Rosendal Hilltop Wines Awarded at Old Mutual Throphy Wine Show 2010

The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show is South Africa’s premier wine competition that recognises the top local wines and winemakers, and honours excellence in the wine industry. Achieving an Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show medal is considered a significant accolade by the local wine industry thanks to the intense scrutiny that each of the wine entry is subjected to.

It is widely regarded as the country’s most credible wine show, largely due to the quality of its judging process. The tasting panels – comprising leading South African and international wine judges – subject wines to the most rigorous scrutiny.

At Rosendal we are very proud to announce our Hilltop Cabernet Franc achieved top score and was awarded "Best in Class" and that our Hilltop Merlot received Bronze Medal. These superb wines are distributed exclusively through our shop at the winery or you can order directly online – and have it delivered straight to your door.

Wineyards within reach of cooling mists and breezes is sought after for fine wine production in the Coastal region. This was traditionally a white wine area, but wine farmers are increasingly rooting for reds. The lower night temperatures ensure that flavour is locked into the grapes, while the depth of the soils is incredible. Fruit-driven wines is characteristic for this area. With special thanks to our wine consultant, Phillip Constandius, we proudly present our Hilltop Range consisting Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc.
